The sapphire edge is far sharper and smoother, which allows for a smaller channel with cleaner edges in the tissue. How Is It Performed?
- Donor and density analysis — Donor capacity and the target channel density are assessed together to produce a graft and channel plan.
- Shaving and local anaesthesia — The donor area is shaved, and local anaesthesia numbs both the donor and recipient areas.
- Follicle extraction — Follicular units are removed one at a time with a fine punch, using the same principle as classic FUE.
- Opening channels with the sapphire tip — Sapphire-crystal-tipped blades create smaller, clean-edged channels in the recipient area; angle and density are set according to the hairline design.
- Graft placement (implantation) — Harvested follicles are placed into the opened channels one by one.
- Dressing and initial check — The area is cleaned, swelling-management instructions are given, and the first wash is scheduled.
